I am Ong Li Hou. Born in 1997. The most recent project I have been involved in is Paper Ghost Stories: Third Eye Open (Steam) by Cellar Vault Games, where I was the sole programmer responsible for the technical implementations of the game.
I am capable of working independently without constant supervision and managed to schedule task priorities to make sure features are delivered by the deadlines.
While I am yet to be and still has a lot to learn, I have always been striving to be a serious, pragmatic programmer so that the code I have written can be easily grasped and modified by the future self and the other programmers.

About the Past

Growing up, the games that I have played are mostly free-to-play, especially since the only console in my house, which I referred to as 'TV Game' has broken down. We had internet connection in my house when I was standard 4. Since then, I have played flash games, social games on Facebook, casual mobile games and online games such as Maple Story, DDTank, League of Legends etc. They were my main pastime activities after school, tuition classes and co curricular activities...

I started to code at the year of 2015. Inspired by how games such as Tower of Saviors, Flappy Bird and Clash of Clans can be played within minutes , I enrolled in Diploma in Games Technology in KDU Penang and aim to make enjoyable, adrenaline rushing mobile games that can be played while waiting for public transport or during slack time at work.

During my study, I have made 5 games in Unity Engine and 3 games in Unreal Engine. I am glad that I have been improving as a game developer, through every game projects I have involved in.
Being exposed to a variety of games, released or in development, I learnt the hardships of making games, especially for a living. Different aspects come into play in the game business. Art to attract the players, code to make the mechanics work, sound to make the game world immersive, a good design to make the game play meaningful and fulfilling. Then, the product requires marketing to be exposed to the players so that someone will spend money on the game...
Recalling the past, my vision has been shifted from making small games by my own to making games that are enjoyable and for me to be proud of with a group of people who share the same goal with me. As a programmer, I still have a lot to learn such as ads integration, setting up game servers, game polishing, to list a few but I am willing to learn to help achieve the vision of my team, to be useful and valuable.
